“The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience.” – Eleanor Roosevelt

Peru is a wonderful country bursting with sound, nature, history and warmth… and I was fortunate enough to spend over half a year absorbing these unforgetable surroundings.

The Sur Andina Project is focused on supporting Artisans within their textile and garment making to be able to achieve a quality which reaches the high standards of the British and European market, whilst simultaneously developing the skills of the artisans in their own designs and management, so that they may support themselves and future generations.

Haus of Artisans founded by Hanah Joseph and Susan Rozo, approached me in June of 2014 to take part in their Sur Andina Project in which they have partnered with Heifer International Peru, who have been supporting rural communities for many years in Peru.

Alongside Designer Andrea Østmo da Costa and the support of the Heifer teams in Cusco and Puno, I was able to work with the Artisan groups on all stages of the Production (Pre, Main and Post-Production) as well as developing the Quality Control processes.

Here are a few of the “working” shots of these processes over the last few months.
